a bright + sweet wedding at Mercury Hall

Feb 6, 17 • Fall, FeaturedComments Off on a bright + sweet wedding at Mercury Hall

We think Mercury Hall is one of the best outdoor wedding venues in Austin (of course we do, right?). It affords a versatility to events that allows the client’s personality to really shine through. We love Heather + Scott’s fall wedding with bright accents + sweet details. Hear more from Heather below!

How did you and Scott meet?
Scott and I met online. After exchanging a few messages and a quick, pre-date phone call, we met for what was meant to be a lunch date that turned into a 10 hour long date. I called my mom the next day and told her that I had met the man I was going to marry. Almost two years later, I did.
What was your favorite part of wedding planning?
I loved wedding planning, but I’ll be honest, it was incredibly easy to get overwhelmed with all the great inspiration that you can gather from a multitude of sources. Though selecting flowers, food, and paper goods was incredibly fun for me, my most treasured planning moments was shopping for my wedding dress with mom, along with selecting wedding rings with my husband.
What’s one piece of advice you’d give to brides planning a wedding at Mercury Hall?
Work with vendors who have participated in an event at Mercury Hall. Some of our vendors had worked with the space before, but others had not. If you absolutely can’t live without a vendor that hasn’t worked at Mercury Hall, get a coordinator who has. As someone who had never planned a wedding, I was clueless and though it all came together in the end, I know I could have benefited from some subject matter expertise.
My favorite part of Mercury Hall is __________.
Scott and I fell in love with the space the moment we saw it. I’m originally from Nashville, TN and Scott attended University in Charleston, SC. Whenever either of us envisioned our wedding, we thought of those two cities and Mercury Hall was the perfect blend of both aesthetics. The hall reminded me of TN, while the grounds reminded us of Charleston. It’s a beautiful space and our guests were extremely complimentary of the venue.
We love that! A big thanks to Heather for allowing us to feature and for hosting her wedding at Mercury Hall! What’s your favorite wedding you’ve been to at Mercury Hall?
venue // mercury hall
caterer // pok-e-jo’s
bartending // she + him bartending
florist // sweetwater stems
