Spring Backyard BBQ

I’ve always had lofty ideas of inviting over my closest family and friends for a spring backyard BBQ. The adults would chat and sip on their drinks while the kids ran around and played with hula-hoops and bubbles in the grass. The spring flowers would be brightly bloomed and the string lights overhead would make everything glisten. We would all share some BBQ, as the band gets ready to play country music (our friends just so happen to be in a country band) so that we can two-step the night away.

…I said it was lofty, but what’s amazing is that this dream came true at Mercury Hall in the beginning of April – for a wedding!

I met the bride last summer and began working with her to make her spring inspired vision come true. She had a few vendors in mind: Saltlick for BBQ, Two Tons of Steel for her band, and a friend for her photographer; she also knew that she wanted Texas’ sought-after spring wildflowers to be included. That was our jumping off point and it was my job to make this “fancy backyard BBQ” come to life.

Sunni and Emily from Gypsy Floral gorgeously brought the wildflower vision to reality and Birch and Brass Rentals made it a cozy, family event with their awesome lounges.

It was, all in all, the fun, spring backyard BBQ that we were wanting! Bright, beautiful flowers were everywhere and the Bride and Groom’s family and friends spent the evening chatting, drinking, eating, and dancing – what more could we ask for?
